Using elevation and other tools in a straight line (snapping to reference axis) | Axiom | Page 1

Hello, I was just wondering if there is some way to using elevation, weld, and other tools similar to this in a straight line? Like is there a keyboard shortcut to make my tools follow a reference axis (like making it parallel to z-axis)? It is pretty hard to do straight lines using my mouse, and for reference on what i'm saying, this option is similar to the ortho tool in AutoCAD.
