Chocolate Keen is a reverse engineering of Commander Keen in C/C++ and SDL. The goal is to be as accurate to the original as possible.

Get Commander Keen from:
Steam
OR
GOG

Game files needed:

Keen 1 (Marooned on Mars):
Commander Keen 1: Marooned on Mars is shareware and is included and ready to play.

Keen 2 (The Earth Explodes):
Place all files for 'The Earth Explodes' (CK2, etc.) in
chocolate-keen/GAMEDATA/KEEN2

Keen 3 (Keen Must Die!):
Place all files for 'Keen Must Die!' (CK3, etc.) in
chocolate-keen/GAMEDATA/KEEN3

Yeah. Keens 1 through 3 were the Vorticon engine while 4 through 6 were the Galaxy engine. Commander Genius is really neat for having support for bloody everything, but I really like the idea of including a couple more source ports for Keen.

I just realized while testing on ROCKNIX that this source port expects all gamedata files to be uppercase and ROCKNIX made this apparent when I tried Episodes 2 and 3 which my files were all lowercase. I've adjusted the shell scripts for these episodes to check for lowercase files and make them uppercase if so and it worked like a charm. Here's the updated zip that addresses this.
