Probably nobody gonna read it but I'm still interested in sharing my story here lmao.

I’m Nero (yes I dubbed it after the Roman Emperor). I’m taking part-time investing and learning AI and Crypto. I'm reinventing myself, embracing the journey once again.

I've been interested in Bitcoin and blockchain technologies since 2018, but I didn't rush into it because the plethora of fraud-related news surrounding cryptocurrencies made me cautious. It wasn't until 2021, armed with a sizeable savings from my job, that I ventured into this world. The stories of friends making fortunes in crypto, achieving the Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE) status, nudged me to take the plunge. I began cautiously, allocating a portion of my disposable income to Bitcoin and a few other cryptos. As you can guess, the bull market of 2021 put me, a kid with no knowledge of cryptocurrency, on the highway train to wealth.

July 2021 was a watershed moment. An investment in a Metaverse-related coin skyrocketed, yielding a staggering 10x return in a mere five days. Such an exponential growth was beyond my wildest expectations. This crazy ROI really scared me. Soon, I witnessed other coins multiplying their value a hundredfold, post-Initial Coin Offering (ICO). The magnitude of these returns was both exhilarating and terrifying, I was completely lost of myself, of who I am, of what I know, and what I deserve.

Previously, my small forays into the stock market had felt rewarding—a steady 40% return over several months. Yet, in the shadow of cryptocurrency's explosive growth, these gains paled in comparison.

During those time, I found myself immersed in a world of market analysis, joining discussion forums, secretive circles, ICO related group-chats, and cryptocurrency meetups. Everyone was discussing the fluctuating values of various coins they bought, showing off and begging for help at the same time. More ironically, people started to divide themselves into schools of thought, those who do fundamental analysis, those who do technical analysis, those who claim to have inside news. There seemed to be a place where anyone could do anything, and anyone could do anything. In this new world, anyone could claim expertise. Even I, after some initial success, was hailed as an 'OG', a term I reluctantly embraced without truly feeling deserving of it. I also started to pretend that I was doing a bunch of tech analysis. No one knew that I was just buying off the top of my head.

After a successful investment, you can quickly fall into a short-term mindset, buying a coin and hoping it will flip 10 times or more in a week and then selling it quickly. In retrospect, my behavior was no different from gambling. Trading cryptocurrency on a daily basis is no different than high-stakes poker, not investing.

During these heady days, my life was consumed by the market. Work, sleep, and personal care took a backseat as I was glued to my phone, tracking every market fluctuation and influencer tweet (thank you, Elon Musk). It was a time of constant news, noise, anxiety, and fear.

However, as the crypto market cooled in 2022, so did my speculative fervor. I had made money that would have allowed me to be wealthy and FIRE, only to end up giving that money back to the market. By now I've become that guy who teaches people that “you can never make money beyond the scope of cognition".

So here I am, I remain convinced of blockchain technology's potential to revolutionize our world. As an investor, my focus has shifted to long-term value rather than chasing fleeting trends. Maybe I started to believe in value investment, but I've moved away from the daily trading hustles.

That's why I'm here at MyShell. Observing the AI technology and the team's ambition, I sense potential in this project. Let’s learn this together and hope we could enhance our knowledge a bit to really deserve earning this money.

Disclaimer: I will not do any investment advice ever. DYOR
