Humans are visual animals, and what attracts visual animals the most are beautiful decorative images!!!

The photo wall and Banner function of Myshell greatly increase the richness of the Bot display. You can put any attractive elements in these places: interesting conversations, usage guides, image illustrations...

But in the past, it was super super troublesome to decorate a bot:

  • Buy a very good computer or rent a 4090 in the cloud
  • Download tens of G files, install complex dependencies
  • Hand rub prompt, start from scratch to conceive character image details
  • ...and a long wait

A avatar + 6 pictures + a Banner often takes hours

Now? Everything is much simpler.
A few sentences can complete the production of the avatar banner photo wall!
Below is a quick high-quality generation flow of mine.

#

0️⃣ TL;DR

In short, it's very easy to create a large amount of high-quality material for a character in MyShell: you don't need to know what Stable diffusion is, what a prompt is, what a negative prompt is, or where you should find a checkpoint...

  • Get a character prototype by simply inputting in natural language
  • Modify character details through natural language to finalize the image
  • Generate a huge amount of good-looking pictures through the 'Regenerate', 'Variation' and 'Upscale' functions
  • Upload! Preview! Appreciate! Publish! Ohhhhhh!
#

1️⃣ Find the image generation robot of MyShell

There are many image generation robots in MyShell, which seem to be divided into two categories:

  • Robots with robots as avatars are used for specific purposes, such as creating avatars, Banners, and photo walls.

The output size of each robot is locked, but the style needs to be adjusted using natural language. For example, you need to explicitly say whether you want a two-dimensional style or realism.
This type of robot may be more suitable for users with clear intentions.

  • Those with portraits as avatars are specific style categories, the style locks a separate model, which can be used for various purposes.

When chatting with this type of robot, you don't need to specify the style, but it's best to specify the purpose.
Because I personally like to create stable characters under one painting style, I will tend to use the locked model version.
You can see which style of these robot avatars is your favorite, and then choose it firmly lol

2️⃣ Brainstorming: Get a general feel for the character

When creating a robot, ideas are usually vague: only by trying and adjusting can you know what you want.
So I often start with a raw image when making a robot: adjusting the robot's appearance while thinking about the character's personality.

The theme I want to do this time is a hedgehog 🦔oc, so I first asked for the opinion of the raw image robot for reference:

A hedgehog girl.

The character is very hedgehog-like, but it doesn't seem to be the style I want?

So I randomly added some elements and tried to make a wish-like character draw:

A cute hedgehog girl.
An enthusiastic hedgehog girl.
A sexy hedgehog girl.
A lazy hedgehog girl.

The advantage of this robot is that it can quickly help you find the feeling of a character without thinking about the details: what hair color, what eye color, what pose, what scene...

#

After a few rounds of random card draws, I almost found the character I like:

A cold and indifferent hedgehog girl.

This character is almost the feeling I want, but some details are not what I expected. So I will make some simple adjustments next.

#

3️⃣ Refine character details

#

During the initial brainstorming, a detailed character description was obtained. We can copy and paste it to refine the specific requirements. For example, add a sentence:

I quite like this content, but I want to change the blue tone to a red tone.
#

The feeling of the color tone is basically correct, and now let's finalize some details of the characters.

Round 1 Iteration: I want gray twin-tails!

I quite like this content, but I want to change the blue tone to red, and also make the character's hair silver twin-tails.

Round 2 Iteration: I want curly twin-tails!

I quite like this content, but I want to change the blue tone to red, and also make the character's hair silver twin-tails, very fluffy curls.

So far, I have obtained a satisfactory character image: background, color tone, features... everything is in place!
Next is mass production! Spread it out!

#

4️⃣ Stable Output Series Content

#

A robot's decorative elements are very simple:

  • Avatar
  • Banner
  • Photo wall
  • (Legendary) immersive background

Just now, I have already obtained the material for the size of the immersive background, and then I will stably generate other categories.
The idea is very simple: copy the content output by the robot just now, then communicate with love, and use your heart to influence the robot... In short, just provide your requirements.

#

My personal favorite way is to create a large photo wall and then slowly filter through them.
So I used natural language to fine-tune the format and content of the images, and then pressed "Regenerate" and "Variation" to generate a large number of stable character images.

Here are two examples:

I really like this content, can you make me a photo wall?
I really like this content, can you make me a photo wall?
Can you design a metallic style skirt for her?
#

'Regenerate' and 'Variation' can be clicked almost mindlessly, generating a bunch of images to fill up the download folder.

#

The difference between Regenerate and Variation lies in the fact that one generates based on the same prompt + different random starting points, while the other generates based on the same image and prompt with a small amount of randomness.

The difference in generated images will be much greater for Regenerate than for Variation.

In short, if you want slight diversity, choose Regenerate! If you want more consistency, go for Variation.

#

In addition to these two functions, you can also use Upscale to enlarge an image! Double the clarity of the image.

When encountering some particularly favorite pictures, I will first Upscale them before downloading. Save some materials for future decoration.

#

Upscale should be a necessary feature in future robot creation: Immersive backgrounds must be upscaled to ensure clarity.

In the beta test, I used a 1000x840 image as an immersive background, but the display effect was a bit blurry... especially on large screens.
So the best method might be to upscale the generated illustrations to obtain a 2000x1680 version before uploading - this way, the clarity of the immersive background can be ensured.
