I've unlocked the recipe for the music player but don't have the stuff to craft it. Does it not really play any music? Is it just for looks? That's so disappointing given ACNH and Stardew both have music players.

Yes! Just scrimped to get the music player and was sad that I couldn’t scroll through the gorgeous soundtrack like in Stardew
