it's decompile protection
preventing the exact thing you're trying to do
or its impossible
don't try to steal maps lol
telling it to the wrong person, just trying to help a friend lol
then tell your friend that the creator of that map clearly doesn't want people to decompile it
but the issue is my amigo became a mapper for this community and the owner wants to still use his old mappers maps so im just trying to help him edit them but cant bc of the protection
just thought there was a way to get it taken off

BSPSource automatically bypasses VMEX protection (most of the time) so it shouldn't be an issue. If the map is that ancient to have VMEX protection its likely the original creator isn't going to respond to be able to help you out (but try to get in the habit of asking before decompiling, most mappers are friendly).
