#portal 2 hammer ++ particle error
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
well the thing is that the particles actually do not exist, in the game, editor, or browser. I figured out its because apparently i don't have a particles folder where the particles folder goes with all the files for the particles, but i have looked in my hammer games made by valve and not found any particles.
in that case, probably best to verify game files
The thing is when i get all the particle files from the games and put them in the hammer++ folder (where its suppoused to go) It causes a bunch of errors, im guessing thats because of several duplicate particles that already exist due to the fact that they dont exist? It's weird and im too lazy to remove all the duplicates
particles that already exist due to the fact that they dont exist
idk how hammer++ does it, but generally duplicate files are not a problem
i have bumped into some in valve games even
an obvious way to find out whether duplicity is the issue is to test whether non-duplicates work, duplicates dont, and if you remove the second copy, they start working
cant really help with something hammer++ specific tho, I dont use it, dont know about it
i've already tested if its a duplicate and now its loading a particle system that isn't on my map?
