Although this is a really cool idea, we should not have to pick between a Secondary School we want to use and Shadow.
Shadow has more enhancement utilization rather than being an entire school of itself to dual with. Especially in the new update.

This suggestion would be much better if current gear just gave Shadow Stats as an optional gear piece instead of pins.
However the lack cards to actually dual with in the Shadow School is a way bigger problem to have than stats for its school.

unfortunately, I think the team is deadset on Shadow being purely a utility school.

I'm confused here. Your suggestion is about adding shadow school pins that enhance shadow stats around the board with trade offs mixed between. You're not going to lose the ability to do what you want when it comes to dual schooling and using shadow magic (since shadow is primarily an enhancement anyhow). It's the fact you will be replacing potential pins that help aid your secondary school for shadow.

With old nova gone in the next update and similar shadow spells, you are doing little to no damage even if you added hundreds of flat damage in comparison to dual schooling with normal pins.
In general, shadow entirely would need major overhauls to complement your suggestion's topic. Like shadow specific resist for example. How that would fit into the rest of the game?

Your suggestion for fueling shadow magic as a usable school with pins is comparable to taking sun school's epic card doing 300 damge to an enemy if the enchant wasn't applied to any card and adding pins because sun can now do damage. Though I love some good creative liberty, it needs to at least work to some degree.
