Gobbler is a very weird trainable spell, it's just a random straight 3 pip hit at the Arcanum, but what if instead of Cyclops Minion, it was Gobbler as the 4 pip myth spell?

Yeah, Cyclops at base is just barely worse, and all other versions outclass Gobbler
