A weird one here.
I was defeating Froudlings in Avalon to get this badge. When I hit 201, I didn't get the "New Badge!" popup on the left side of the screen so I kept going. I also checked my "New Badges" list and it was not there (screenshot #2). But I did actually receive the Badge, as seen in the Avalon section (screenshot #1)
From what it sounds like, the Badge Notification/New Badges list only works if you get the exact number of defeated mobs. @gray condor
