Technicalities:
You can technically only see your Jokers when in a round.
You can technically keep using consumables on your cards in your Joker slots, as the deck will always refill the missing space, since they're always visible
You can technically discard when outside of a round. Discards reset upon entering a round. Giving you some time to prepare your hand for the next round.
Any Joker slot increases work like they do. But Negative Jokers only apply when in a round.
