In all seriousness, my main issue is that halving ranks and especially having the amount of money tied to it is VERY confusing when you get into the details. The main issues I thought of first are:
- What happens to Aces and 2s when halved?
- If Aces become 5s and 2s become Aces (since Aces are both 1s and 11s), then a discarded 2 is worth $11 (which is. a lot, since every other rank either becomes a 2 or an Ace).
- If Aces become 0s, then do they just get destroyed?
theres too many issues in the details that you can't solve within 1-2 sentences I think
(this is the case for like, every idea with halving the rank fyi. impossible to fully explain within the limits of a joker imo)

at least at gold stake (since blue stake introduces -1 discard), based on the amount of value I think Castle gets per round (+9-+15 chips, or 3-5 cards of its selected suit) it would only give $1-$2 per round
