#Physical owners of Balatro Switch 1 should also get the Switch 2 upgrade

Hopefully this is something Thunk or Playstack can do- and not at the whim of Nintendon't
how does this work from the standpoint of handing your switch one cartridge to a friend, them downloading the other balatro, and handing the cartridge back?
The way a digital switch 2 upgrade to a physical switch 1 upgrades works is as follows:
If you have a Switch 1 cartridge, you can pop it in and play the Switch 1 version. If the digital Upgrade Pack is on your system, you can put the cart in your switch and it'll go "Oh hey, they put in Balatro. Let me just apply the upgrade pack before they start playing" and boom you're playing the Switch 2 version on your Switch 1 cart.
So to answer @rustic stream's question, you don't actually download the game digitally when you download the Upgrade Pack. You can actually get the Upgrade Pack on its own even if you don't have the game, you just can't play it since an Upgrade Pack can only upgrade a Switch 1 version.
Sooo yeah, this was 100% possible and Nintendo has absolutely zero control over it to my knowledge.
It's very nice that they made it so if you have the digital Switch 1 version you can get the Switch 2 version for free... but why not just make it an Upgrade Pack so we can transfer our save data to the Switch 2 version, and so physical players aren't screwed over?
This genuinely just feels like greed which is insanely out of character. Deltarune actually did the same thing, except you were able to transfer your data and there wasn't even a physical version in the first place. Sucks that you couldn't save your playtime, but better than whatever Balatro did.
