Mechanics
Elite Blinds are stronger than regular Boss Blinds, but easier than Finisher Blinds. After beating a Boss Blind, you can choose to take on a random Elite Blind. If you choose to do so, the shop will not be entered, you will not cash out and it will go straight into the Elite Blind. After beating an Elite Blind, get 6$ and a random Spectral Card as a reward. You will also get what you would’ve got if you cashed out. There is no downside to skipping an Elite Blind. Except for The Stand, all Elite Blinds start at 2.5x base. Except for The Angle and The Pin, all Elite blinds have a parallel to a Boss Blind. The icons are based on the Ge’ez first order consonants (except for ጰ to make it a round 25).

List of Blinds
ሀ - The Well
Discards all cards in hand after hand is played

ለ - The Law
Your most played hand will not score

ሐ - The Flag
Numbered cards are face-down

መ - The Gate
For every hand played, +0.7x blind size

ሠ - The Cloud
Flips one third of the cards in deck before the blind starts

ረ - The Slope
Hands are scored as if they are level 1

ሰ - The Misfortune
If a scoring Club is played, hand will not score

ቀ - The Spin
Debuffs 4 cards in hand after scoring

በ - The Arch
Must play 5 scoring cards

ተ - The Bedrock
If a scoring Spade is played, hand will not score

ኀ - The Harm
Start with 0 discards, all cards must score

ነ - The Chisel
If a scoring Diamond is played, hand will not score

ገ - The Blood
If a scoring Heart is played, hand will not score

ጠ - The Mountain
Lose 1$ when a card is scored or discarded

ጸ - The Figure
Base Chips and Mult and raw scoring from playing cards are halved

ፀ - The Trap
Face cards are destroyed when scored

ፈ - The Angle
Destroys the highest ranked card scored after hand is played

ፐ - The Pin
One random Joker is shuffled and cannot be moved until blind is beaten

Why is The Stand phrased like this?

If it is not the first hand, hand will not score.

If this debuffs all hands after the first, it would seem to be morally equivalent to having only one hand, but with more steps.

The only thing I can think that this affects is you are able to try the blind before using Luchador.

Am I missing something else? Seems like a weird corner case to specifically allow

this is interesting but i don't know about some of them like the arch. I'd be cool with it if you knew what elite blind you'd be going into as you chose

The fact that you get additional rewards that are useful seems like winmore.

Maybe the option of taking an elite blind could make the rest of your run harder to compensate for the extra resources, like permanent x1.25 scaling per elite blind taken (based on the fact elite blind scaling is x2.5 base, so this value is 2.5/2). Then it's a risk reward mechanic.
