Flow Deck
Effect: At end of each Round, remaining Hands are added to hands next round. -1 hand

Notes:

  • In other words, hands are persisted between rounds, and your traditional hand count becomes the amount of hands you gain per round.
  • Discards are not affected by this deck. Initially, my idea included discards carrying over as well but I think that would be too strong.
  • You would earn money per unused hand at end of round as normal, but this would include hands from previous rounds. To counteract this potentially huge boost to your economy, the deck also gives -1 hand (-1 hand gained per round).
  • This deck would benefit heavily from being able to win blinds in as few hands as possible, as this would have a greater-than-normal snowballing effect on your economy. On the other hand, builds that require many hands to win blinds would have more trouble on this deck.
    • This would likely reward builds that are based around higher scoring/more difficult to play hands, which I see as a nice way to subvert the pair meta on higher stakes, on this deck at least.
  • The name "Flow Deck" comes from the fact that hands "flow" from one round to the next.

I think this idea for a deck would be an interesting way to change up the game's meta a little bit, similar to what Green/Plasma deck do in a way. I also think it would be a good step towards solving the "Pair Meta" problem that higher stakes currently have, that I hope is addressed in update 1.1.

pretty op

#

like if you had 3 hands when you start and win in 2 since this is your first blind

#

next round you will have 4 hands, say you also take 2 to win but then get some scoring

#

next round, you will have 5 hands

#

you win in one due to the scoring stuff you got and since this is early game

#

next round you have 7 hands

#

unless you somehow use up like 4 or more hands a blind

#

by the time you get to ante 8 you would have so many left over

Also Burgler would become far, far too powerful. An extra $3 per round, compounding? Yesh.

too op imo

I think it’s a really fun idea
I think for balancing purposes there should be some kind of cap on the number of hands you could carry over but that might ruin the spirit of the idea 🥹

this is a very fun idea but I worry that it'll be too strong

#

particularly with burglar as some have said

naive comet
#

also am i stupid or

#

is the total money gain from the leftover hands similar to the fibonnaci sequence on this deck

timid owl
#

not necessarily

split plover
naive comet
#

so 2, 6 (2 + 4), 12 (2 + 4 + 6) wait this still aint anything similar

#

im STILL stupid

Yup, it's quadratic, as mentioned, the total amount is n(n+1) where n is the number of rounds
