Launch game on steam, greeted with a black screen on the wrong monitor and application not responding. No audio, no screen, loading bar for a fraction of a second before going black and freezing.
I've seen this being an issue with AMD graphics drivers however I do not have AMD graphics. I'm running an RTX 5070ti with the latest drivers (installed three times now) I do have a 9800x3d, however I have the iGPU completely disabled in the device manager and disabled in the BIOS. I've played 8.5 hours in the past with zero issues and came back to the game after a year to find out its completely unplayable for quite a few people on PC.
I've tried:
Reinstall graphics drivers
Delete all %appdata% files for Balatro
Delete all local files of game
Verify integrity of files
Launch .exe individually
Launch as admin
Allow through firewall
Allow through antivirus
Launch with only one monitor on
I've seen this issue reported for at least 8 months now and no one has a solution except for those that do indeed have AMD graphics and get them re installed.
Any one have any advice? This issue is very frustrating as it seems there will not be a fix in the future. Is it time to give up on this game?
