+50 chips on face cards ain’t gonna do much past the first couple antes, and it locking you into only face card synergies is kinda boring

And it’s basically impossible and pointless to convert a single number card at a time to stone to unlock those synergies

Yeah this retaining of the rank just makes stone cards actively worse, both for the aforementioned reason of no longer being able to just throw them into a hand anymore but also because without the ability to remove the rank they now can't be used to help improve rebate/idol if you get to such a point

If you really want chips while retaining rank then hierophant works just fine

My take on a stone deck:

  • 3 random ranks start as stone cards.
  • Stones are retriggered

But the issue is there’s basically no stone card support with jokers so it’s just a glorified 100 chips at that point
