I recently moved to Linux Mint 22.3 and when booting up Balatro, the game intro audio plays but the game window just shows black. I can even hear with I click the quit and play buttons but I can't see anything... Is there a fix for this? Please and thank you!

are you launching the game through wine/proton (from steam) or natively?

Quite possibly a proton bug then, try changing its version and see if anything improves.
As a side note, you can find a native love package (be that through package manager or their official AppImage), and just launch the game natively with e.g. love ~/path/to/Balatro.exe. Though technically not official, in my experience it had less overhead than a similar thing running through Proton. And it probably avoids such issues.
