Died at ante 6 boss while trying to play a "5 of a kind" deck (anaglyph as base deck).
The no discard boss was fatal for my deck
I am sure more talented people can do much better

Maybe 7 not 6, I might have mistaken the ante, but it was the no discards for sure.

I tried "5 of a kind" of aces.
I had 8 of them, and 2 had a blue seal or whatever you call that

I also skipped one round to get many negative jokers (maybe 4 by memory)

5 of a kind build with only 8 aces is certainly a decision

I probably would try something like full house with that set up or ideally spam 3 of a kind levels though I honestly didn't try too much in the seed before I left for multiplayer shenanigans

Yeah, nothing pushed me to play that.
I was just trying to do that, I often try 5 of a kind or flush five when I can, or 4 of a kind if too hard.
But I could not play the way I want to play

I beat ittt

But I didn't push it that far so honestly didn't even care to post my results

Fun seed on white stake plasma. Ran photo chad until Ante 8. Skipped Ante 8 big blind for rare tag, turned out to be baron. Found mime a couple Antes after. Found showman not long after, but didn't give me anything useful except deck fixing, but DNA was already doing a lot of the heavy lifting.

Brainstorm was Ante 6 or 7 i think, but can't remember if it was in shop or pack.

Will see if I can replicate some success on gold stake at some point. But I imagine the scaling will kill me before I get to Ante 5 the_plant

Seed Info: 4JPT23CY, Plasma, White Stake
Started optimising the run, but out of time for this evening, so I don't have much advice after Ante 4. So Ante 5 onwards is just what little I remember.
From my winning run, I had a shoot the moon going until my hands were strong enough for Photo Chad to carry.
I'm currently looking into if I can just skip STM altogether just to spend arcana on getting more Kings rather than queens.

Still cannot remember where/when I got DNA, but I believe it was deep in a shop after Ante 8

SB Shop = Shop directly after blind.

Ante 1

  • SB Shop: Egg + Buffoon (Ice Cream)
  • BB Shop: Skip
  • Boss Shop: Luchador -> if you don't fancy brute forcing The Plant later

Ante 2

  • Boss Blind discard low numbered cards, keep 10s, until 4x face cards (upside down). Play 3x face cards closest to 10s + 10s for full house
  • SB Shop: Skip
  • BB Shop: Temperance + Buffoon (Chad), reroll, Shoot the Moon + Photo
  • Boss Shop: Strength

Ante 3
At this point, High Card is not enough score.

  • Small Blind: Discard anything except Kings, should draw 2x Queens, apply strength, play 4x Kings
  • Big Blind: Discard anything except Jacks, play 4x Jacks
  • Boss Blind: Discard anything except Kings, play 4x Kings
  • Boss Blind: Discard anything except Kings, play 4x Kings
  • Boss Shop: Telescope + Celestial + reroll for Smiley

Ante 4

  • Small Blind: Discard anything except Queen and 10s, play full house
  • Boss Blind: Sell Luchador. I did have one attempted run where I didn't have Luchador and survived, so it is possible, but you'll weaken your ice cream even more.
  • SB Shop: buy both spectrals, Red Seal Jack + Black Hole

Ante 5-7:
At this point, it's largely about survival so play naturally and try keep econ up (you'll need for Brainstorm). On my winning run, I kept my egg all the way through until Baron.
Use Arcana for Kings/Queens, strengthen hands. I went with Pairs. Upgrading High Card is fine, but not strictly necessary until you're ready to pivot after Ante 8.
Shoot the Moon held until Ante 7, picked up some additional econ jokers until I saw what Ante 8 boss was (Verdant).

Ante 7

  • In any shop: reroll for Brainstorm. If concerned about interest, reroll a little per round to keep cost down.

Ante 8

  • Skip Big Blind for Rare Joker (guaranteed Baron).
  • Sell Egg or a less useful Joker to beat Boss. In my run, I sold Egg earlier after I became poor rolling too hard lol. Picked up an econ Joker, but sold that to beat boss.

Ante 12

  • Reroll Early for Mime
  • Ecto in last shop Spectral pack, it hit Mime for me.

That'll work too. I don't recall when idol first shows up, but I do remember seeing it a few times after Ante 8.

How long did it take you to beat the seed?

This one? I think it was on 3rd go round. Saw the luchador on that same go, but didn't know about the plant. Barely survived brute forcing the plant and didn't have enough score to survive the next round, so restarted and picked up the ice cream.

It was on 3rd go round I got lucky with finding photo chad

I was aiming for shoot the moon build until that showed, then it kinda became a hybrid until after Ante 8

It wasn't easy on this seed, tbf - much of the deck fixing happened after Ante 8. iirc I picked up a trading card to help with discarding. Picked up as many strengths and deaths as I could find. Finding the DNA was the biggest help tho
