Yeah, you need to quit the game and upload the save file. It'll then download a slightly modified file for you, and you need to replace your old save with the new one. See https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Balatro#Save_game_data_location for where to find the file
It should work for the microsoft store version, but I can't try myself
