What if Balatro introduced a spectral card that deleted (wiped out) vouchers you have purchased?
But, instead of removing them, it turned them into the blank voucher?
And then what if the Blank voucher was removed from the shop, so the ONLY way of getting it was by purchasing a voucher, and then removing it (wiping it out) with this new spectral card?
Essentially, I feel like all of my vouchers have an eternal badge on them, and I would like to add some level of voucher management and strategy to this area.
I think this solves a few of my problems with the voucher balance in Balatro, because it means my heart doesn't sink when I see Planet Merchant appear in a shop (and especially when it reappears in the next ante), as I know I can safely pick it up and the harm it does to my run is limited.
This also works particularly well for the Tarot Merchant, which, I feel like is weak in the very early game, when I need to fill out my joker roster, extremely powerful in the mid game for deck fixing, and then detrimental again when I want to go for high scores in endless.
The other prime candidate is of course Magic Trick (and it would be nice if Illusion could be fixed to at least provide Seals as it states to lessen the bad feels I get when I see Magic Trick).
Obviously this also has interesting interactions with vouchers like Clearance Sale, because early on it's beneficial for cheaper items in the shop, but deep into endless I value temperance value more.
I could go on, there are plenty of interesting strategic interactions, particularly because you might not even have a voucher you actively WANT to delete when you see the spectral, but, you might want to pick it up anyway to get Antimatter.
The way I would envision this change would be that it replaces voucher pairs, (so if you scrub Magic Trick, it replaces Illusion with Antimatter).
