balatro not opening on linux mint

I recently switched to linux mint, and successfully installed balatro. It worked for a long while, no problems. But one day, I wanted to play it, and it went through the process of launching and running, but it never actually opened, even with proton enabled. I tried switching to proton hotfix, and to other versions of proton, but it still never opened.
