For every multiple of 2 over the required score you have, gain +$1
Capped at $20 (x1,048,576) over the score limit to prevent the fact that you could theoretically gain $1,017 if you reached naneinf on Ante 0 (extreme example, but the point stands)
Unsure if this is breaking any "localthunk said he would fucking get anyone who suggests this" rules cuz unwritten rules thread is 500 messages and I can't scroll up for that so sorry if it is

it's a joker that only benefits you if you're winning
so it kinda doesn't have an actual usecase
i get what you mean
my first usecase thing was "your run is doing good now but money is a slag and you'll need some soon" or like if you went through The Ox or Wraith
yeah but scoring 2x the blind requirement for 1$ is a lot to ask
yeah i was originally going to make it $5 but i thought it was too much
yeah but i feel like someone would just so happen to find a way to get like only 1.7e308
winmore
No, actually.
The significand is NaN due to the way Balatro calculates it
but the actual score value is just Infinity
this is pure winmore yeah
most runs unless they already win easily dont score 2x over
even single hand oneshot builds dont do that on higher stakes
yeah sorry about the wall of text there. We plan to make a separate post with all the rules and no extra text
yeah this is winmore
no idea what that means
it only benefits you if you're winning
i thought that was a kinda cool idea ;-;
oh well might be a cool idea for like cryptid or mayhem or inconsistent quality mod #8284
Infinity is not a value as far as I understand it.
Infinity ≠any multiple of 2 of the score
8284?
2.71 8284 8281 5904 ...
it is a value in the IEEE floating point standard, which is what Balatro and most programming languages use
Huh, neat
Actually the more I look into this, it's only a value for making NaN detection easier*
*from my understanding of the comments left by Stephen Canon, who worked on IEEE-754, INF is a value to seperate it from NaN (therefore INF must be a stated value)
man why do all my ideas suck
i think theyre cool and then i send them anf turns out theyre not
i know thats supposed to be normal but feels bad regardless
Hi, the multiples of 2 are 2,4,6,8,10... and not 1,2,4,8,16,32,... What you probably intended. So the description should be changed
Because right now it says that if the score requirement is 2 000 if you pass 2 040, then you gain $20
Think they meant powers of 10
Keep trying and you'll get better!
i meant powers of two
sure…
maybe i could make it not winmore or whatever by like
New effect
For every power of 10 your score reaches, gain $2
This guarantees everyone gets at least $4 with a passing score which is decent as is
No.
so uhh powers of 10 means that for 10 100 1000 you already outdo golden joker while barely starting ante 2
that too much
rocket needs like 3 full antes to get what this does at ante 2
the two thoughts i have to nerf this is $1 for powers of 10 and $2 for powers of 100 and both are kind of the same but have different intervals
relying on flat amount scored for what a joker does seems bad regardless now that i think about it since if you play you naturally reach the goals instead of having to try for them
the no caveats econ joker exists and its called golden joker
and this second idea is also no functional caveats since you cant choose to score more or less
my failed idea count has now increased to 5
well just remember that a well designed joker wont rely on you overscoring
or just be functionally free
i should probably just start suggesting to cryptid or whatever exists out there with the same idea i dont see main game ideas working out for me
i think the only decent idea i had (based on feedback i got) was that a joker would be fun on cryptid
i do want to keep trying but it doesn't seem fun when it's 5 losses to 0 (maybe 0.5 if i'm kind) wins
Yeah I agree. Some more input should be provided so that you can do better
I wouldn't think of them like that
Every time you suggest something you learn why it's not a good idea, and thus your ideas become better
