Seems very easy to control to where it gives what you want.
I wanna know why it changes on selling? Not saying it's a bad thing, just an interesting choice
I wouldn't say "easy", you have to either have good enough econ and an empty Joker slot to sustain rerolling 1 in 3 odds constantly or never sell cards
(I say 1 in 3 because if it works like Ancient, it won't pick the same suit twice in a row)
I guess only if you have good econ
Actually that's a good question, is it based on deck composition (like Castle) or purely random (like Ancient)?
Honestly, for this kind of Joker, my vote would go toward Ancient-style
yeah I intended ancient style, shouldn't depend on the deck cause it removes the whole challenge
I have also considered disabling it for one round after selling a card if it's too broken. Though I think it's kinda unnecessary.
As for the condition, I chose selling a card because it's like throwing fish bait and then catching a fish, hence the joker name. I think this mechanic is pretty fun and unique and will allow for something like ancient joker to shine in late game more.
It's good as it is
I mean it never specifies selling a joker
You could sell tarots and planets
Thus alleviating one of the potential downsides
Sure, but those are significantly less common in the shop unless you pick up Tarot/Planet Merchant/Tycoon
Yes but it greatly offsets the opportunity cost; that's excluding generation options such as certain jokers, purple/blue seals, etc.
Like you can find them, but not consistently enough to not burn a ton of money on rerolls most of the time
With only 4 suits to pick from, it shouldn't be that big of an investment
