TL;DR: content mod with prestige layers
i enjoyed playing cryptid and polterworx (when that was a thing) a while ago but got bored pretty quickly because, while getting big number is always fun, once you do it you kinda just can't die unless you literally play for hours. i want to make Acecension to fix this problem - basically, it'll start only a bit less balanced than vanilla, then once you get to a certain score, you prestige and your run instantly resets. if you fail to prestige before ante 8 (might change this idk), then you lose. once you prestige, you get a prestige-exclusive booster pack with overpowered jokers, spectrals, tarots, planets, etc., with better cards appearing at higher prestiges. this way, you can get big number while still not trivializing the game (as prestige cost increases drastically)!

note: i dont want to make anyone do all my work for me, but im not super experienced with balatro modding and this feels kinda ambitious 😭 so help would be appreciated (especially for debugging and stuff, after I get the main prestige system done i think ik how to do everything else)

done:

steal prestige code from mayhem mod (forgot to say this, but that mod is open source and i also checked with alex343xd who made the mod to make sure it was ok)
add prestige reward system
todo:
make it so it doesnt crash if you forget talisman probably
add actual prestige rewards (rn there is just the system and all the rewards are jimbo)

main thing is ideas for jokers tbh I don’t want them to all just be automatic big number but they also should be for the later prestiges or else you might die if they’re too inconsistent

I'm gonna ask you this since you're like the only one who seems to want to play this

between lack of ideas, lack of modding knowledge, and lack of motivation, it seems like this mod isn't getting anywhere and even if I did make myself work on it I think most of the joker ideas would be pretty generic. would it be fun for me to instead add compatibility to as many mods as possible (so with this mod installed, most others mods' jokers will be disabled, and when you prestige you can maybe either get a more unbalanced joker (like legendaries idk) or permanently unlock lower tier modded jokers in the shop)
I'd still add original content to the mod eventually but only after adding a decent amount of compatibility + some more reset layers

i'm hesitant to basically just steal stuff (with permission ofc) from other mods but i think it could add a lot more variety to runs since it'd ofc take forever for me to come up with hundreds of original jokers when getting hundreds of modded jokers to have compatibility isn't as bad

plus one of the things i want to do with this mod is just make it fun to play (for me and for others), and i feel like it'd be more fun for me if i hadn't even used most of these jokers before

Sorry what should said is your core goal the mod, is prestige. What you could do is like you said have prestige be categories of Jokers beyond legendary that can only be unlock some sort of way but work with others mods. Look Finity as example or Fusion Jokers has good place to start at

another positive to doing this - if it has compatibility with tons of mods, you could just install this along with all your favorite mods and have it basically just create a coherent modpack out of them

whereas if it just added its own jokers it'd have both a lot less customizability and replayability
