The game is balanced around hands that are harder to play rewarding you by scaling more quickly and having strong Jokers

So what about if it just counts as the heighest upgraded pokerhand. This would allow for synergies with other jokers but wouldn't make it hc slop, right?

It's still High Card slop since it allows you to play High Card to get the benefits of better hands

It's OK, there's lots of ideas that sound great on paper that aren't as good in reality
