sticky keys behaves weirdly with stone cards

sidenote i like the way that this joker is balanced in a similar way to swashbuckler where 90% of the time its <15 mult but with certain jokers it can skyrocket and act as really wacky scaling

There’s a ton of stone card hardcoding in the base game so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s part of the issue

Can you help me understand what's going wrong here? It should just be taking the base chips of the original card (try converting it using a Tarot and it should show a 2). Additionally, this was considering all cards, not just scoring cards. This will be fixed shortly.

My first thought for what it might be is something to do with using the nominal of a card being kinda buggy with stone cards, since the nominal is still kept the same, I had similar experiences with an old version of my joker Whale and I ended up reworking it completely for that reason among others

Let's say we just treat Stone cards differently. What should the behavior be? Should Sticky Keys really give you +50 Mult? Same with Crime Scene? Should we just make an explicit carve out and say "of first scoring non-stone card" and "has only 1 non-stone card" respectively?

Instead of using get_nominal or get_id, I would definitely recommend using get_chips_bonus or card.base.nominal (where card is a reference to the card object you're pulling from)

Thanks, this is perfect! I switched this to use nominal for both sticky keys and Crime Scene. Anatomy and Pharaoh also used get_id, so I added a check explicitly ignoring stone cards for those two.

I love Pyro. That said, @zenith anvil , FYI, this will also burn debuffed cards. I'm not certain if the phrase "scored cards" is clear here. It might be more accurate to say "cards in that hand". 🤷‍♂️

Pyro is probably really OP, but it is also really fun, so I don't know if it matters at this point.

and also, in my opinion (I could be wrong), the joker said "next shop". should that be changed to "next round shop" or is it really intended to appear when you roll on the shop after you sell it?

or we could make it appear every next shop

1. Fool not taking space is a bug. I can look into that.

2. Unstoppable Force can't be eternal.

3. It would definitely be harder to make it show up in the next round shop. Probably possible, but would require more research. I think the easier solution would be to just have it scale slower. It's also important to remember that the cost of the Joker increases every time, so it will eventually be really hard to purchase. I think with some tweaks it is comparable to Hologram

You could probably do 3 with a mix of a custom context injection for shop items getting created, a global tracking variable/table, and global mod calculates

actually, if you sold it after the end of round (before shop), its only 7$ for 1.25x / round. but, since you can just sold it and reroll after, technically you get 1.5x scaling for 7$ plus a re-roll

i would assume a total for the price (not including discount / reroll voucher) 7+5+7 which is $19 for 1.5x. for a single shop per round is actually very cheap compared to let say constellation with the same scenario (without any voucher) and assuming if we get 1 celestial pack per shop with 1 planet per shop it will be $4 pack + $3 planet + $5 reroll + $3 planet + $6 reroll + $3 planet +$7 reroll + $3planet = $34. thats almost 80% cheaper which is making a lot of uncommon xmult joker worst compared to unstoppable force

i saw the trailer for this mod yesterday on yt, downloaded it today an i gotta say its absolute peak. its the closest a mod can get to an official balatro update, and the sprites are very clean too! i was wandering though if only more jokers will be added through future updates or also consumables, vouchers, enhancements etc.?

honestly we are just going with the flow, it might be a while till a new content update however we are completely open to it

i can guarantee that i really want to add new enhancements, vouchers, boss blinds, decks and consumables however i cant guarantee that it will happen anytime soon

i only make the art, so its really up to @main venture if he has time or motivation to implement it

i also want these additions to feel vanilla which is why it will definetly take a alot of polish and discussion before anything ambitious is added to the mod

May I ask for the thought process behind adding XMult cards to the common pool?
I find it creates two big problems.

• If found on the first shop or as one of the first jokers the player encounters, it's genuinely weak.

Given that the player doesn't have any other Mult cards and Planet cards likely cannot be afforded yet. The player ends up with an overpriced and conditional +1-4 Mult because they will be multiplying a hand ranging from a High Card to a Full House, most of the time. This also discourages skipping in the first and second ante.

• If the player made it out of the early game with them, they make looking for a build increasingly redundant.

It discourages engaging the store in the mid game to find pieces and if they have many too quickly it could make the latter portion of the game less relevant by giving them a close to winning build too early. All they would focus on likely is enhancing the deck.

Love the mod. There is some brilliant designs in it, although I think it could be polished a lot.
Keep going.
