A lot of suggestions don't follow one or more of these rules that are very hard to find so I thought I would write them down for people.
(1) Common themes
- (1.1) Secret hands could be made by combining different patterns within a 5 card hand
- (1.2) Finisher boss blinds are based off of card suits for different versions of poker
- (1.3) Legendary jokers are based off of real jokers

- (2.1) include ideas that mention other jokers (ex. a joker that gains mult when used with another specific joker)
- (2.2) include ideas that are in specific groups (ex. food jokers: seltzer, popcorn, are not specifically grouped in the game but by the community)
- (2.3) include joker specific hands
- (2.4) make negative playing cards
- (2.5) increase card selection limit
- (2.6) include xChips (it is quite literally the same as xMult)
- (2.7) no Exodia (jokers that serve no purpose but to be combined with others to make 1 strong joker)
- (2.8) no joker that swaps chips and mult
- (2.9) no multiranks (cards that count as multiple ranks)
(3) Guidlines for making jokers
- (3.1) Jokers should have a theme.
- (3.2) Jokers should have one effect.
- (3.3) Jokers with powerful effects should be conditional.
- (3.4) Jokers should generally "fit in" with other Jokers.
- (3.5) Jokers shouldn’t always be the ‘right choice’ on an average run.
- (3.6) Joker descriptions should be short, ideally 3 lines of text or less.
- (3.7) Joker descriptions should be simple.
- (3.8) Jokers should synergize with general keywords/stats, NOT specific Jokers.
- (3.9) Jokers should work in tandem with existing keywords/stats/mechanics, not introduce new ones entirely.
- (3.10) Visually, Jokers should all contain the word ‘Joker’ in the art. (art is not necessary to include, please do not use ai)
