A +3 mult per round scaling joker is enough for an ante 8 run, especially with the econ value. And swash is a decent speculative pickup early on. If I had a swash and I saw an eternal rental egg, I'd probably take it unless I had a specific reason not to.
I'd probably not take the eternal egg first tho

I feel like the opportunity cost is too big if it’s rental-eternal. Sure you scale +3 per round but you also lose $3 per round AND lose a joker slot
That severely hampers your ability to dig and even sometimes hold onto xmult jokers
