This is how most software (afaik) works; for a button to be pressed, the mouse has to be on that button during both press and release.

If you move the mouse far away from the button before releasing, it doesn’t press. But you can move the mouse off the button slightly, and the button animation will lift, and the button will still be activated

Oh, so if you move it the right distance, it still presses the button when it shouldn't
