0 is not a multiple of 8
multiple (plural multiples)
(mathematics) A whole number that is obtained by multiplying a specific whole number by another whole number.
14, 21 and 70 are multiples of 7

0*8 = 8, 0 is a whole number, therefore 0 is a multiple of 8
i stand corrected (youre still a nerd)
either way this is an awful idea and it doesnt take a genius to see why
it would be quite hard. you'd be fine on checkered or plasma deck even jokerless though
but it also feels like something bad should happen on ante 0, because you're not supposed to be there in the first place
err
i disagree
ante 0 is before ante 1 and i dont see why it should have a finisher blind
ante 0 will also have the boss from ante 1 unless you do the bug
is this how heiroglyph always worked
yes
dang
Only works with the context of ante -1 which isn't achievable so uhhhh
It's actually achievable with voucher tag 🤓
It’s very funny but probably not balanced
And you're still in 4th grade /j
How?
You couldn't spawn Petro/Hiero legitimately and at the same time, you must clear BB to get the first voucher, and skip SB get the tag and then Petro won't spawn since Hiero is unclaimed and alr spawned
Unless i misunderstand voucher spawns, it isnt possible
Ante -1 should result in a finisher blind with an infinite score requirement, since it's impossible to get to legitimately

You could hit ante 1 then go back to ante 0 a 2nd time
the voucher tag doesn't spawn the voucher immediately as you enter the shop
so there's a small window to get it
Not legitimately reachable and requires what I'd assume to be a game bug
Timing is a game bug
Being able to buy a voucher before tags happen, usually instantly and/or at start of shop; yeah that sounds like a bug
Timings in Balatro 🦆
Its like rerolling before the D6 tag, yeah I'd imagine it's doable but you can't convince me it's intended or a feature
Mime
What mime
Moving mime between "end of round" and "scoring" makes sense as they're seperate game states, or seperate activations
I assume that was your issue but I could be wrong
True. It's most likely a bug. But it's still a fun trick
Mime builds don't exist, I don't believe in them
Say that to my Shoot The Moon
gold cards are actually supposed to trigger on the winning hand and not a step after it
from what i recall thunk saying
Not a issue. Just that timing is in balatro. So you could make a point to say that is intended
For me it feels just impossible to get one 🦆
🦆 🦆 🦆 🦆 🦆
Why wouldn't they just work like steel then, except with a "final hand" stipulation (activates as they would score)
Also to be clear I'm not calling you a liar I just find it weird that it triggers such a way
not sure
There's a clear difference there tho, it's like if you could move a mime to a BP and copy steels an extra time mid-hand
Basically, mime itself is inconsistent in how it's timing work, and from what Vic said, shouldn't be a thing at all. There's no real reason to assume it's intentional unless Thunk comes out and says it; context clues point toward it being a bug
Dunno if it’s a bug so much as an unintended feature
Like naneinf
Ig that'd be a better way to put it..
Okay I disagree that it's like Naneinf since Naneinf is a natural end point unless you have infinite processing power
This is much more of a "bug" than naneinf, one could be argued to be a clear lapse in Balatro's OrderOfOperations
Naneinf is a limitation of the way the game is coded
The coding language hitting its limit, no?
Well yeah but that requires changing how the game holds values, no?
Think I remember thunk saying smth about not watching to patch out naneinf
I know it's a mod but with crytid you can get a ante 8 boss on ante 0. And it's normal so the game code treats it like normal
I believe
I’m not a programmer
So really not the best person to talk about this outside of the basics
Which to me, makes it different from simply not following the Order Of Operations;
One is a side effect of the coding language, the game cannot handle higher values (unintended feature)
The game ignores Order of Operations due to lowered game speed (much harder to make a call on)
This is how I view it basically, until Thunk comments on it I don't see a way this is an unintended feature since it's not in-line with how other Order Of Operations take place in Balatro
Because Naneinf isn't a bug, it's processing power's limitation (or the codes)
Thats definitely fair, neither am I, it could be a bug and I'm unaware, but I speak from what I know, and if someone corrects me, awesome!
I ain't read allat
Ante negative one isnt a multiple of 8 though so eitherway it shouldn't have it
It's a bug in a similar way that YOMI Hustle's "Fresh Milk" tech was/is a bug
I might reframe this by combining it with a different suggestion, which is how I thought the game worked anyway
that heiroglyph gives you a new boss blind for your new ante
so if you get heiroglyph with the mouth at ante 6, you face a different boss at ante 5 but still have to face the mouth at ante 6
You know, a much cooler easter egg would be to make ante 0 have identical shops to the last ante you played in your last run.
Would be funny but stupid to code probably
It wouldn't be that bad, especially in a seeded game.
