Hmm.. what about an opposite version of this?

Hand size starts at 9, +1 hand size per hand, going back to normal after a blind is defeated; however, ante requirements increase by x0.5 base ante requirements per hand.

(If playing big blind in ante 2, this is 800 base ante requirement, the big blind is 1200 chips, so if you beat it in one hand it's 1200, but if you have to play a second hand it's 1600, and so on.)

This would encourage one shotting blinds, and only playing large, valuable hands.
