  1. Is it helpful?
  • I won't just pin funny messages or miscellany unless it's even remotely useful. Useful is a strong word but I mean anything of relevance to either the developer or the downloader.
  1. What is it?
  • Here are my guidelines for pinning messages based on content.

A Document or Other Relevant Content

  • If it's a useful document, just pin it. No questions asked.

The Mod Itself

  • NEVER pin a mod unless it's hosted on a website where you can view the source code without downloading it.
    • If you don't know what that means: Just put it on GitHub.

A Fork of the Mod

  • If asked by non-OP to pin a link to a fork of the mod, I'll only pin if they have one of the following reasons:
    • The original creator of the mod (and likely the thread's OP) hasn't updated the mod or sent a message regarding it in over three months.
    • The original creator of the mod has given their express permission.
    • There is a concerning issue that necessitates the use of the fork over the current version. (If they argue this, ping me unless you have a decent understanding of computer science.)

A Discord Server
No. Pinning a Discord server that isn't our own is pretty much an endorsement of that community, saying that we agree it's moderated at the same level as ours. It creates a joint responsibility between us and that server's moderation team that we would quite like to leave separate. This is a benefit to both sides.

Full guidelines adapted from me yelling at the other moderators in the back
I won't pin any mods that don't let you view their source code without downloading it. Sorry 'bout that
