If you get this with any good build it's gonna die fast.
On the other side if You're baraly making it this is just broken.
I'mma get you back for all the times you came after me.
The point is that it stabilizes after a couple rounds
You don't take it if you're already winning, you take it when you need something extra
No don't get it twisted. I like the idea. It's just that I wanted an exuse to NOPE you
nope-ing out of spite... truly one of the moves ever
Ha get NOPED
This is not rare worthy at all
It doesn't really matter what you score, it will expire in 5 rounds no?
Unless you can somehow align the stars to consistently score the exact base blind score
Oh I think I misunderstood
I think it means if the hand would oneshot
Interesting way to avoid the winmore comments...
I'd make It downscale by 1.5x to make such a powerful effect a bit more punishing tho
From 5 to 3.5, then 2, then [Eaten!], in that case
Makes sense tbh
I just wanted to try designing a rare food item (considering that, as written, this would usually level out at 3x [which matches Driver's License])
But at 1.5x loss I could see it as an uncommon
Gloucester (Uncommon) $7
I think the effect is free enough to have It be rare
This feels like an instant win if you’re doing terribly, should probably be rare and nerfed
tbh
If there's a lot of suggestions regarding balance that push it in several different directions, then maybe the idea's just flawed
or perhaps with some playtesting we can get a feel for the joker and then balancing becomes obvious
So what I see is it's not great in white stake and absolutely game saving in gold stake. And I don't like how swingy it is. I think leave it as uncommon but lower it to like 2.5 and -0.5
Perhaps
But I do think this is the best suggestion to figure out where to put it.
I could see this being like a food joker where it has x mult and naturally decays, maybe even faster if you’re scoring over the requirement
I like this type of suggestion so it isn't carried all through a gold stake run.
The idea was that it allows you to "cheese" scoring for a round or two (since gloucester is a type of cheese), and stabilizes to a normal amount
Maybe something like 3x mult, -0.25x mult per hand played, -0.5x if hand exceeds blind requirements
Maybe? Would be worse than Ramen though
Ramen you're giving up a major tool to keep it up effectively.
idk it just seems really hard to balance a decaying xmult effect
Ramen could theoretically be held if you don’t discard, this joker really just gives you time to try and figure something out
Honestly it feels like a similar position to Acrobat but more flexible.
In that case... it could stay an uncommon
Yeah, I’d say that it’s a less conditional seltzer
Though the decaying xmult uncommon niche is already filled
So that's why I like the 2.5x start.
Yeah it could also be 2.5
Yeah but it's interesting to think about
I don’t think it’s wrong to make a second decaying x mult joker
No theres an important difference one you're giving up a resource to get. I think if this slowly decays with a larger leap if you fail x requirement is engaging
There’s lots of jokers that do the same thing but have different conditions
I mean
It's a little mini game
We already have decaying chips, decaying +mult, decaying xmult, and decaying retriggers
Actually here’s a bit of a curveball you can throw in
Really the only thing missing is decaying econ lmao
If this joker were to expire, you could have it spawn a negative perishable joker that weakens you, which either can’t be sold or costs money to sell
Some sort of moldy joker
That seems more modded territory to me tbh, but sounds interesting
Yeah you’d have to edit the code probably
