#Energy Drink (common)

vampire with this 🤤
This seems like a good idea, but maybe Uncommon is more reasonable
Only issue is the rarity or the chance
Also Driver's License
This is better vampire synergy than midas mask I like it
Also needs oops to be reliable
I dig
Except that you can't fuel Vampire with it
Since.. this gets destroyed if you play a hand with any cards w enhancement
I think if the vampire is positioned first it will remove then before it is destroyed
But yeah should be uncommon
Oh yes that's true, for some reason I thought you could trigger Midas and then Vampire on the same hand
you can
you objectivly just can
Whether or not it works depends on Joker ordering left to right
This makes it so that you have run Vampire left of Energy Drink or you risk destroying Energy Drink, but that's the better way to run this Joker Pair anyway
(because then you can actually benefit from the enhancements)
But this isn't worded like vamp, vamp isn't "remove all enhancements from played hand" this is "if played hand contains an enhancement" and should be checked before Vampire checks for scoring
Or atleast thats how itd make the most sense in my head
The Midas Mask already has a similar interaction with Vampire, and this is how that interaction works.
Midas specifices on score
They are not the same thing
Vamp doesn't change played hands (wild flush doesn't change into a HC) so id assume those enhancements still count as part of the "Played hand"
Which is my entire point- this isnt worded to act like Midas, it should check for "a card with an enhancement" when the hand is played.
This would work for using this to fuel vamp, but should still be destroyed if you play a hand with enhancements that Energy Drink didnt apply; which makes it a decently powered common
@silent elm 9 times out of 10, when a person posts "played" they mean scored. So I have taken to simply assuming this until proven otherwise.
@scarlet saffron did you mean "played" or "scored"? Most effects in Balatro only consider scored cards (highlighted cards that give chips)
if it was common and the chance was more like 1/4 I think it would be more balanced, or uncommon and 1/2 chance it would be better.
I assumed it was "scored" for application,
I assumed "played cards" was meant to be "scoring cards"
I dont see how "played hand" could mean much else personally
And if vampire cant change a played hand, the played hand is determined as soon as you touch the button to play it. Thats how I view it
Now if this was meant to be whenever an enhanced card scores this destroys itself; yeah itd work w vampire just fine
Edited for clarity
well, the reason why I don't think it's intended is because other Jokers that perform similar checks only check the scored cards. It's why Splash has anti-synergy with Ride the Bus for instance.
