Can not be selected…? So you can’t even discard them? Or just that hands containing them won’t score? Orrrr are they just debuffed?
Like, say I play a king. All the kings in your hand will still work for baron or steel, but you can’t play kings
Although now that you say it, I should fix it to “cannot be played” rather than “cannot be selected”
I think you should still be allowed to play then but simply if a hand contains them, it won’t score as to avoid soft locking the run
Since take for example a deck fully made out of Ten of Spades; after you play one hand and run out of discards, you physically can’t do anything
It would work the same way as if you ran out of cards to play even if you had more hands
But what if you have one potentially playable card in your deck? It seems unfair to end the player’s run just because of a bad hand draw
I do think it makes it interesting tho because even if you plan on having steels to win, you might have to discard them to have other cards to play
Like a deck of 50 queens and one 7?
Yes. While not likely, from a developer standpoint, all plausibilities should be considered
I just think it forcing you to have more options in your deck would be interesting
Now that I’m thinking about it, this would run over any build made for straights and flushes
Interesting? Sure. Fair and fun? Not so much.
To say that it’s unfair and not fun isn’t really true. Any build with one card or multiple hands with the same cards would get run over sure, but any build focused on playing any group of rank dependent hands like full house or five of a kind is fine
And besides, it has nothing to do with the actual scoring of cards themselves, so technically you could one shot it with a high card or straight and win
I'm not commenting on the core idea but the execution
Like I think having a drawn hand that you can't play nor discard which causes you to lose the run is pretty infuriating
SHOULD
eahck
should be debuffed
rather than unselected
because that still allows you to discard them wile keeping the general idea
Ight, I changed it to played
should still be debuffed imo
because that still ends up with them getting stuck into ur hand if u run out of discards
Targeted to deck fixing?
Do you guys know how strong flush five builds are?
This won't stop it
Even 4oak
This doesn't stop anything actually
Hc: play a different tank
Pair: play a different rank
2pair: play different ranks
3oak: play a different rank
Flush: why would you have multiple of the same rank in a flush, why are you even playing flushes anyway
Straight: should 1 shot the blind, this one is probably the most affected
Full house: should 1 shot, play a different rank
4oak: should 1 shot
Straight flush: would 1 shot
5oak: should 1 shot
Flush house: would 1 shot
Flush five: would 1 shot
