Should be +1 mult, + 2 is ridiculous
When is the $1 lost? When a hand is played? When a round starts? The end of an ante?
This power creeps Boot way too hard
Not exactly since with Boot you still have flexibility to spend whereas here you’re forced to be broke and it takes time to scale up
Regardless the scaling needs to be toned down
Boot is 1:5 off of memory
well, if it's per round, it's probably fine.
because it can't scale up quickly
wait
This is 2:1
And on the point of flexibility
no never mind
I mean- static loss but static mult is better for consistency
it would need to be ante to even start to be balanced.
Yeah I agree it’s strong rn and should be nerfed. I’m just pointing out their conceptual niche is mildly different
Oh no I agree
But this power creeps it as is on a near objective level
That would be worse than groker/bus/nova 😭
(I can see the flexibility argument, but since Landlord's mult doesn't go down, losing that money is fine long term since you'll need to buy less stuff overall)
This would be fine at 2$ : 2m per Joker IMO
Well, if it's a frequent upgrade, then the only way you're getting money is if you sell the joker, and with it all of the strength.
(Thats a 1:1 ratio, but also costs 8$ per round if you want full slots)
Depends on when it triggers
It’s like holding 2 rentals so you really just need to get strong econ
If at end of round, gold and interest will be enough to avoid crashing the economy
I think on exitting shop would be nice
If at start of round or end of shop, I agree with this
Agreed, makes it an active consideration for Interest, uses a very niche trigger (only Perkeo off of memory,) and would give it a riff-raff synergy
(Get more jokers w/o paying their rent :3)
Honestly this would also work at 2:3 (2$ vs 3 mult) if it was at end of ante
Plus would probably put it more in line with mult scalers
🤨 for "I like it but needs tweaks"
I love how this subcommunity is slowly giving meaning to different emojis
This and the Sker Ritual are the only communities I'm active in because of it
Cool people who actively try to be on the same wavelength (compared to the usual chaos LOL)
oh this is also neat
it fits in more with the theming as well I would say
as in a landlord taxing you after you've done your purchases 😭
Naw dw about it king. Conceptually it’s a good idea, just needed minor tweaking
what annoys me is I had it at +1 initially LOL
i thought of this in the give me any topic forum, thought it was neat and did it as a suggestion
but it was +1 there and I really thought "that's Too Weak only +4 per round 😡"
Oh wait it doesn’t include itself?
no it doesnt
it's in the joker description just because thematically it wouldn't make sense for a landlord to tax itself
Isn’t this just dagger but without the sacrifice?
No, dagger will use the sell value of the card, this simply taxes $1 per joker.
If you have dagger + gift card or dagger + an egg you've been sitting on, that's a huge power boost immediately.
Mmm true
+1 is a bit too weak though I think
How would you feel about +3 per $2 taxed?
You’d at least be getting red card scaling at a discounted rate then
Without the opportunity cost of skipping, and with it happening, on most decks, twice as often
Basically half cost red card but you can't really skip it without removing parts of your build
likely when the joker takes money
The timing wasn't specified when I made that post
Why the caveat of until money hits zero? Just let it go negative and make it so money charged into debt doesn't scale the joker.
i dont think thats a good idea
bbecause then this joker inherently acts as a hinderance if u dont have consistent econ
or early-game
money charged into debt also should scale the joker, because ur still technically being charged
And that's why you'd want boot over this
Because it's risky
If this joker had the effect where you go negative with no benefit, then it is way too easy for things to immediately and completely get impossibly far out of hand. For instance, if you have no econ, and you're doing the small blind on any stake except white, this would essentially mean no scaling, no money from the blind, no shop, no scaling again, now you're $8 in the hole, and the big blind isn't enough to dig you out, so no shop, no scaling again, now you're $5 in the hole going into the boss blind.
Honestly, no scaling for no money is reasonable.
The Landlord self-destructing at $0 is also reasonable ("Eviction!")
