Lose 1$ for every joker held (except this joker) or untill money hits 0$ at end of shop. This joker gains +1 mult for every 1$ lost as a result of it.

woeful coral
#

Should be +1 mult, + 2 is ridiculous

kind shuttle
#

When is the $1 lost? When a hand is played? When a round starts? The end of an ante?

thin quiver

This power creeps Boot way too hard

lusty prism
#

Regardless the scaling needs to be toned down

kind shuttle
#

well, if it's per round, it's probably fine.

#

because it can't scale up quickly

#

wait

thin quiver
#

This is 2:1

And on the point of flexibility

kind shuttle
#

no never mind

thin quiver
#

I mean- static loss but static mult is better for consistency

kind shuttle
#

it would need to be ante to even start to be balanced.

But this power creeps it as is on a near objective level

lusty prism

This would be fine at 2$ : 2m per Joker IMO

kind shuttle
#

Well, if it's a frequent upgrade, then the only way you're getting money is if you sell the joker, and with it all of the strength.

If at end of round, gold and interest will be enough to avoid crashing the economy

lusty prism

I think on exitting shop would be nice

(Get more jokers w/o paying their rent :3)

#

Honestly this would also work at 2:3 (2$ vs 3 mult) if it was at end of ante

#

Plus would probably put it more in line with mult scalers

#

🤨 for "I like it but needs tweaks"

Cool people who actively try to be on the same wavelength (compared to the usual chaos LOL)

pale trout
#

its +1 now

#

remind me never to trust my own balancing ever again

pale trout
#

it fits in more with the theming as well I would say
as in a landlord taxing you after you've done your purchases 😭

i thought of this in the give me any topic forum, thought it was neat and did it as a suggestion

#

but it was +1 there and I really thought "that's Too Weak only +4 per round 😡"

lusty prism
pale trout
#

it's in the joker description just because thematically it wouldn't make sense for a landlord to tax itself

uncut thicket
#

Isn’t this just dagger but without the sacrifice?

kind shuttle
#

No, dagger will use the sell value of the card, this simply taxes $1 per joker.

#

If you have dagger + gift card or dagger + an egg you've been sitting on, that's a huge power boost immediately.

lusty prism
#

+1 is a bit too weak though I think

#

How would you feel about +3 per $2 taxed?

#

You’d at least be getting red card scaling at a discounted rate then

per 1$

Why the caveat of until money hits zero? Just let it go negative and make it so money charged into debt doesn't scale the joker.

pale trout
#

bbecause then this joker inherently acts as a hinderance if u dont have consistent econ

#

or early-game

#

money charged into debt also should scale the joker, because ur still technically being charged

ember pagoda
#

Because it's risky

kind shuttle
#

If this joker had the effect where you go negative with no benefit, then it is way too easy for things to immediately and completely get impossibly far out of hand. For instance, if you have no econ, and you're doing the small blind on any stake except white, this would essentially mean no scaling, no money from the blind, no shop, no scaling again, now you're $8 in the hole, and the big blind isn't enough to dig you out, so no shop, no scaling again, now you're $5 in the hole going into the boss blind.

#

Honestly, no scaling for no money is reasonable.

#

The Landlord self-destructing at $0 is also reasonable ("Eviction!")
