I say this because I flubbed at least two different good hands to the Psychic boss blind, and I can't have been the only person who has lost runs because of this.

The difference between playing an invalid hand and other misplays is that you would not play an invalid hand if you had even a split second of a reminder. A misplay can happen because you didn't try to reroll a joker or played the wrong cards, and that was a decision you consciously made. Wasting a good hand on accident just makes the flow of the game more clunky. You can also just have a setting where you can turn it off.

It literally tells you that it won’t score though, it’s in the same realm of asking for confirmation if you play a hand vs Needle

You have the whole ante to realize you’re up against the needle, the game communicates what it does sufficiently. Plus it’s already the easiest boss, and that’s demonstrated if you can straight up ignore looking at the boss effect.
