A deadly addition to the game! This mod is still mainly getting stuff added. I will release new stuff when its ready but wanted to show the first main idea for mod. Introducing Tasks for Jokers! Where you are assigned an optional task that if completed gives awesome stuff! I have decided to Add a new aspect in the game as well I want opinions on before making more. They are using stickers but for benefits. They will be called manifests and can be earned from certain Jokers.

Ghosty is the only Joker in it but It is mainly so you can test out idea and give feedback 🙂

Where the joker is some joker from game and can make a hook manifest with this effect for jokers

And could even find some effect for playing cards can be both have it set up either way

Volatile: +1 chip and +10 mult, if negative +100 chips and +50 mult

Based on the volatiles from Dying light, the horror parkour zombie game, 50 mult might be too much but having a joker be negative is fairly rare.

Manifest are basically benefit stickers

But yes easy to set if negative loop

Easily can make a dbd joker with a few options of manifests of these ideas where you get a random one on card up to u just trying to help on ideas

Jumpscare!: 1 in 6 chance to give $5, +5 mult or +5 chips (look up the jumpscare popouts from spooky's for an idea of what they look like)

House of leaves is really complex in it's horror, and I have yet to read it or watch a full summary yet. But I do want to do one for it

Heritage: All cards treated as clubs ( Effect is kinda meh, but clubs are blue like the ocean In balatro. Art would be a Jimbo but looking like a fish person)

Christine: +5 mult for each consecutive hand played without discarding a heart

Reanimation: Your first played hand is not discarded

Not sure on an effect for psycho

Dr. Jekyll: + 20 chips, 1 in 10 chance of destructing

Mr Hyde: +20 mult, only appears after Jekyll is gone (like gros And Cavendish)

Nosferatu: Turns scored heart cards into spades, +2 mult for each card changed

Dr. Frankenstein: -10 chips, in five rounds create Adam

Adam: On blind select create a negative "The lovers" and a negative "The world"

Michael: Copys the joker to the left, -10 chips (needs to have some downside not sure what)

Shin Godzilla: Every other hand scored create a Death tarot

I wanna set up the systems for that soon, regardless. Main issue will be figuring out if there's a way for my value change system to be compatible without needing you to restructure your jokers, which ideally I would like to prevent the need for, haha

but it could at least make them compatible with anything that checks their release year, genre, revenue, etc.

No, not in that sense (my goal is to make it so you only need to have a single file dedicated to Kino crossmod, and you don't need to alter your joker's code at all, though how well that'll work out is yet to be seen). It's more that the value changing system I use has a very specific set up in how the jokers are made, which means that system won't be able to work with your jokers unless I find a clever solution

My joker tasks and manifests since they are custom adds to game and prob wouldn’t interfere with urs so I can look into ur set up and make a pool for my jokers is what I mean

the main issue is loading in the metadata, but I'm up for grabbing that for you. I haven't published the movie api call python code I use for that because it's very clunky, haha

Every joker has its cast, budget, box office, etc., which is terrible to add by hand, haha

but I'd wait with setting anything up for crossmod until I've set up the API to make it easier, haha. I wanna avoid any situation in which another person would need to alter their code too much, or do too much work.
