this is interesting because ive also been trying something similar for just a personal modpack i can move between my steamdeck and main pc. is something like this only possible if you learn lua and fix issues between mods on a case by case basis?

also, idk if youve tried on your SD, and this probably old news, but the luajit2 gave me some really good gains in performance when used so you could try that for extra performance gains when modding?

Unstable to me feels like it does basically the opposite of feeling like vanilla, with it adding pi rank cards and such. I'd also see which mods are in a stable place and still actively maintained, because there's a chance that an smods update would kill a mod that's not being maintained actively

yeah i thought of that, i was just looking through things i had that felt mostly vanilla. interesting consumables were the only reason i added it to my mod list and i suggested it but i suppose redux-arcanum fills a similar gap

I'd at least wait until I've set up a way to share selected contents lists, because I don't think base Kino is great in mod packs generally, honestly. I add a lot of jokers that kinda bloat the pool for a lot of design reasons that don't make sense when you play it with other mods

agreed, i have a seperate balatro install for kino. love it, but it def shines on its own in my opinion

I can't convince a lot of people to play it solo, so making it more fun in packs is something I wanna focus on but it's definitely for later, haha. But I think the Banner extension I wanna make would generally just be good for modpacks

That version's still the priority for me. Same reason I'm keeping the shitty posters as the default texture for now, instead of the resprites, haha. But I think if people could just play with the enhancements and a selection of the more interesting jokers, it's fun in packs too. Problem is that it's not fun for people to toggle a bunch of content by hand with banner when you download a pack. But I think that's the case for plenty of mods

for what its worth, it works really well with the purely joker mods ive added to it without much issues and that has kept it super lively for me. have you thought of curating your own list of recommended joker mods that work well with kino?

Not really. I only really play it in Exattox' modpack or with MoreFluff, when it comes to playing it with other content
