Recently, I made a Balatro Video (https://tinyurl.com/c745j7tf) and had so much fun making it. I ended up having Balatro Modders reach out about my balance tweaks. However, this gave me a new idea. I didn't want just a rebalance mod. As an IRL Florida Man. I wanted to make a Florida Themed Joker Mod!

I have every joker already planned out, but I cannot code for diddle. So I've made this thread in order to reach out to the Balatro Community for help as I am desperate need of artists+coders.

If you're interested in making art, awesome! It's open to everyone to try their hand at every joker. There is no rush to be the first to make a Joker. I wanna give every artist a fair shot at expressing themselves. So i'll review multiple submissions for the same joker and pick a favorite.

i like Fore!, i can even make the joker sprite for that dynamically change depending on the par if you'd like

I'm not sure what's confusing, think Dusk but instead of retriggering your last hand, winning on your last hand gives you mult

The gives X0.25 Mult... that usually would cut the existing Mult by 75%. Did you imply gives X1.25 Mult or gains X0.25 Mult?

these effects are simple enough that i think you can do something no mod has ever done before

Edition an Enhanced are deliberate for the sake of distinction

Edition for the holo/foil effects the enhanced are multed lucky etc.

but i should use editioned for verbiage sake

Unrelated but i'll admit that I absolutely threw around the rarities also despite the fact I twice over thought about balancing I figured their would be some objectively broken cards. However, I'm ok with things getting a little bit crazy. Tweaks and Balances will be considered so long as you're willing to consider unbalancing just as much as balancing

The original intent of "The J" was to have it do a new enhancement called "weather" where you played a card it would get weathered, which would halve it's value for the next 2 blinds. Then it would come back strengthened and double its original value (THIS WOULD INCLUDE ANY ENHANCEMENTS)

To represent getting hit by a hurricane and building back stronger

I simplified it to "Playing an unenhanced card disables it for 2 blinds. Returns with a random Enhancement."

I don't know if y'all would be willing to try your hand with "Weathering"

36: Blood Orange (Common:) All Diamond Cards retrigger if colorblind mode is turned on.
-Artstyle: Glass of orange juice idk go wild

37: Flashy Flamingo (Uncommon:) This Joker gains +3 chips if your best hand is played consecutively.

38: Retirement Home (Rare:) Any Jokers destroyed give double their purchase value.

39: Palm Tree Pete (Common:) Playing every card at least once gives 13$ (aka you need to play 2-through-Ace.)

40: Spring Breakers (Uncommon:) Glass Cards have a 1 in 10 chance of being broken. Lose 10$ if broken.

i think the spring breaker idea is good cause spring break is just a money sucking vaccuum

negative = 3
polychrome = 3 (takes negative's weight in some circumstances)
holographic = 14
foil = 20

Kirbo’s Jokers (aka my fellow Florida Man insisted these be added:)

41: The Hot Line (Rare:) Joker Gains x0.5 Mult per consecutive round won in the first hand. If the streak is broken, destroys all jokers.
-Artstyle: Jacket from Hotline Miami

42: The Square Grouper (Uncommon:) This Joker gains +4 Mult if played hand has exactly 4 cards
-Artstyle: A square grouper is a cocaine bale floating in the water lazily like a grouper.

43: Ace Ventura (Uncommon:) Animal Jokers give x1.5 Mult

44: Spearfish (Uncommon:) Gains mult equal to half the rank of destroyed cards

45: The Conch Republic (Rare:) x4 Mult. 1 in 7 Chance of “Leaving.” Becomes Common and reappears in stores for free.

If you're wondering wtf Conch Republic is you gotta be in the know thats deep florida lore

just so yall know, the sizing should be 71 (width) by 95 (height)

then 142 by 190 for 2x

if the people putting them in the code have to downscale them, they'll look wonky as hell
