I could help a bit! Though, I am rather new myself, not really having any experience beyond jokers yet, for the most part
one resource that's nice that I use quite often you might find interesting is Vanilla Remade, a mod made that aims to remake as much of vanilla as possible, that way it's easy to reference for modding
I recommend it a lot, you can find a lot of effects much easier to make when able to refrence vanilla code easily
