Here is the current list of Jokers that I have come up with as they currently exist.
1e300 Joker - ??? (Based on a joke from this chat.)
Weird Joker - ??? (Literally just a reference to Weird Al)
Card With Nothin' - ??? (Creates normal cards? -2 Hand Size? Anti-Drivers' License?)
[Uncommon] Fun House Mirror - If first discard is a single card, destroy it and replace it with a random card that is already in your deck.
[Uncommon] Hypothetical Joker - Copies the effect of a random joker in the game. (Effect changes every round.)
[Uncommon] Valentine’s Day Card: If your hand has a king and a queen in it, retrigger both cards.
[Rare] Fuck You Joker - If it doesn't like your played hand, destroy every card in hand. Otherwise, retrigger every card in hand. (Disliked hand changes every round, does not tell you.)
[Rare] Memory Card: The first card of your winning hand will be guaranteed to be pulled in the next round.
[Rare] Nonbinary Flag: Allows Kings to count as Queens and vice versa.
[Rare] Nothing Ever Happens Wojimbo - While in hand, cards cannot be modified or destroyed in any fashion.
[Rare] Receipt - X1 Mult for every food-based Joker destroyed. (Currently X1) [Might reword to make clear it involves stuff like Diet Coke.)
[Rare] Sled Racing - When a card is played, flip its value to the opposite (2 <-> A, 3 <-> K, etc.) and retrigger.
[Rare] Thorny Card - Once per hand, destroys one random card in your hand and gains chips equal to that card. (Starts at 0.)
[Legendary] Censor Bar - Retriggers all multiplicative Jokers twice. (Get it? XXX?)
[Legendary] Click (Adam Sandler) DVD - When sold, set ante to [multiple of final ante]. Gain $25 per ante skipped. (In multiplayer, set lives to 1, gain $50 per life lost.)
[Legendary] Groucho - Gains a permanent x3 mult if all 13 ranks can be played in ascending order without skipping any hands. (Multiple ranks can be done in one hand, Current Rank: [Starts at A].)

Surprisingly I heard someone say Rare was too high and I should bring it down to Uncommon.
Which feels a little broken for Uncommon since it does do a X2 mult, but it also isn't good for deck shaping or anything.
Maybe if it would retrigger every card instead it would be worth a Rare.

Also looking for potential ideas for the 1e300 Joker, another joke joker idea that's technically the sibling to the Fuck You Joker, and the Weird Joker/some Weird Al-themed Joker.
I will say some of these are very funny as ideas- Sled Racing is literally the Card Jitsu card from Club Penguin, but unironically I think I kinda cooked with Receipt.
Cause it can become very powerful but it is held back by the fact that each food joker must actually be fully used- you can't just sell it, you have to use it until it is destroyed for Receipt to add the mult.
Spectral cards I don't think are the biggest issue in terms of it? Cause those are rather rare in the grand scheme, especially the circumstances where you'd get the right combo of jokers and Spectral cards and just luck on the destroying ones that Receipt doesn't get destroyed either.
That's also why I'm not concerned about Madness, unless you have an Eternal Receipt nothing is protecting it from getting destroyed too.
And at that point, it'd be worth more scaling to destroy any joker for that +.5x mult, which you can do at any time.
(If anything this is making me realize Receipt might be better off as an Uncommon.)
Now Ceremonial Dagger, that one I can imagine being a really good synergy depending on how the coding works.
Cause when I say "food destroyed", that's basically how I described it being...fully used. But IDK if Balatro code is that specific where it can detect if a food joker has been fully used, so I just described it as "destroyed".
Okay, so here are the changes I'm thinking so far.
- Drop Receipt down to Uncommon- it's really good potentially, but since food jokers are relatively few compared to the also Uncommon Dagger and Madness, it might be better for a realistic balancing view.
- Change the positive effect of Fuck You Joker- X2 mult feels low for a Rare joker. Some ideas are potentially adding a X2 chips on top of it, maybe instead it upgrades the hand played by 1-2 levels, maybe on top of just the X2 mult... a part of me wants to say retriggeer each card instead, but I think that might make it too close to Sled Racing since that's also a retrigge-every-card Rare joker.
I want the reward you get from working with it to be worth the risk of "Any hand can make you lose up to 5 cards if you get very unlucky".
I cannot tell if Click is broken or worthless but it's so funny to me, Click is an injoke with a couple of friends of mine and I just thought of how that would be put into Balatro...

No, actually, I- I feel like "Card With Nothin'" should be... something maybe about clearing stuff off of cards.
Cause that means you're getting a card with nothin'. Maybeeeee... it gives some sort of bonus if all played cards (or cards in hand) have no seals/editions.
I think if I make it "Gives a plain card every round", it just becomes worse Certificate, so... what if it becomes like an anti-Driver's License?
Where it multiplies your chips or mult if you have less than a certain amount of modified/enhanced cards?
I'd make it a +chips card to make it different but that just makes it bootleg Blue Joker.

Like I will say, if other people want to suggest ideas for the mod, I can approve them.
Cause rn it is just ten jokers and three of them I don't even have an idea of what they do.
I'm trying to avoid including stuff other people have come up with so it can stay more or less original, but I did see a really cool boss idea where it levels down the hand played. I'd need to find the post for it.

I was gonna make it "You sell this card during a boss and the score reverts to the (could work with either small or large blind), BUT you only one hand to win". Which... looking at the boss blinds just replaces whatever boss you're doing with The Needle.
Similarly, this is just The Arm.

[Uncommon] Chiseled Joker - Played blank stone cards will gain its value and suit, allowing it to be played as a normal card.
Just the idea of like- chiseling. Something about it speaks to me.
Also ended up getting the idea of adding something akin to Stone Cards, Wood Cards.
Not entirely sure what to do with 'em yet, but I like the idea.
Gonna make Wood Cards effect Chips since Stone Cards effects mult.
But I gotta add a downside, all the better enhancements have them.
Stones don't have a suit/rank, glasses have a chance to break, steel and gold need to stay in hand, lucky cards only have a chance to proc...
Maybe... wood cards are kind of like the food consumable where they have some good value but they break after a certain amount of uses.
But I feel like that'd work with a paper card instead.
Had a fun idea for a card but realized it was basically just Erosion but Again.
I can probably modify it though.

Not sure what to make the balancing but this could be a fun card that definitely does Not reference anything.

High risk, high reward.
Maybe it can have some hidden interactions.
Destroys Blueprint but it doubles the mult it’s already gained, or the queen of spades gives twice the value as any other card…

A reference to Groucho Marx's 13 films as The Marx Brothers, Groucho will gain a permanent x3 mult for every time you can play the 13 suits in ascending order- but if a hand doesn't go up at least one rank, the count resets.
Multiple ranks can be done as long as they're done in order- so A2345 will jump from A to 6 while 5432A will only go up to 2 for the count.
At the very least I have worked out this one. /silly
Though I do now wanna ask something- when I save a Joker, do I save it as just the 1x form or the 2x form?
Okay, so I came up with an idea that could either be a voucher or a Joker.
And I want y'all's opinion, there are two versions. The idea is just that it's called "Insurance Policy".
And it can have like one of two effects, one stronger but realistically easier to program than the other,
- Half of all cards destroyed this ante (rounding down) will return to your hand after the boss blind.
- Glass cards now only have a 33% chance to break. (As a voucher, an upgraded version brings it down to 25%.)
Okay, so I see someone prefers the glass cards one, so I guess my question now is: Would that be broken from a balancing perspective?

I came up with a stupid idea for a deck.
Euchre Deck - Play with only cards you would use in a valid game of Euchre. (All 9 -> A cards as well as one red 4 and 6 and one black 4 and 6.)
I'm back after a long break.
I've come up with a new Joker idea that's a spin on an existing one.
(Uncommon) Medusa - Every played face card turns to stone. Medusa gains X0.25 mult for every face card turned to stone by Medusa.
It's technically pretty strong since it scales way faster than Vampire, but it's also way more costly than Vampire.
Also, I’m changing Thorny Card to be chips instead of mult. Just makes more sense and I don’t have anything to boost chips.
Plus it works better with the rank and means I can add in a clause! Instead of being based on rank, it’s based specifically on whatever chips the card would have given.
Which means that thing can synergize with Hiker.
Got an idea. I’m renaming Receipt to Menu to fit the food thing better and then making a new Receipt card.
It’s gonna do something reflecting like- how much money you’ve spent in the shop. Maybe adds .05 mult or chips for every dollar spent?
Also ended up coming up with some really fun ideas in a VC:

…You know, the current thread name (Nova’s Hypothetical Balatro Mod) is a placeholder… but… I do think a Hypothetical Joker could be interesting.

Dropping Hypothetical Joker to Uncommon- feels like it'll miss more than it'll hit.
Also, couple of ideas for Card With Nothin'- Sort of closer to the Anti-Drivers' License thing.
[Uncommon] Card With Nothin' - X2 chips if a hand is played with no modified cards.
[Uncommon] Card With Nothin' - [15 * X]% chance to retrigger each card in hand for each unmodified card within it.

I just like the idea of it being based on playing a hand with no modified cards, uncommon-ish since this is a card that's probably great in the early game and then falls off in the lategame.
Shoutout to the In Stars and Time mod, I wish I came up with a consumable with a 50% chance to make your joker invisible but a 50% chance to just delete it instead.
