The translation is likely correct. The reason your cards are losing their gold enhancement is because of the vampire
Vampire removes any enhancements on scoring playing cards
This in turn removes the gold enhancement that Midas applies
A tip I can give is move Midas Mask so it is after Vampire in your joker slots, this way the cards will be gold after scoring ends.
then when you play the already gold cards, vampire will take the enhancement, and then Midas with make them gold.
