No direct theme in mind, but it is heavily linked to cryptid.
Current Additions:
Trickster, directly adds to your score!
Stopwatch, gives chips based on how long you've had the game open
Warlock, score modification, but a bit crazier
Facsimile, blueprint but leftwards!
Tetratia, gains score whenever you do literally anything (entering a blind, playing a hand, discarding, buying a card, selling a card, you name it!)
And Factoria, which takes the factorial of it's current XMult, and makes that it's current XMult, for example, it goes from X3, to X6, to X720, to Xe1000
These are all the jokers currently in the mod right now, but the next update will add a few more, namely, a joker that converts every boss blind into a positive version
Here's a demonstration, it makes The Plant retrigger face cards, instead of debuffing them
The mod is very early in development, but i'm quite ambitious, and have a lot of plans, so stay tuned!

adding score directly is a really interesting concept i haven't seen before. factoria is a fun concept too. excited to see where this goes

one really interesting thing about the warlock in particular is that it multiplies the same score from one hand to the next, so if you play multiple consecutive hands without discarding it compounds really quickly. that's a fun effect, saved my rn fr

I mean, warlock is still less overpowered than oil lamp or compound interest. There are a few rares in base cryptid that are better than most epics

but i made it epic because I realized it can basically get to ante 8 almost on its own with very little help
the idea of needing to wait for individual chips to accumulate one by one in real time in order to save your run is so funny, i hope that happens to someone

New release
Exadversum is currently in beta and only supports a few boss blinds
but is fully playable and stable
forgot to mention but exadversum supports the clock, the manacle, the wall, the shard, the club, the window, the goad, the head, the plant, and the serpent as of now
every boss blind that isn't supported is disabled (kinda)
When can anomaly be used
it can be applied to consumables, but only judgement and hermit have effects when anomalous is applied to them

anomalous hermit is a direct replacement to the scrapped "centurio" exotic, and anomalous judgement is able to create worldbending jokers (of which there are currently only one)

i encountered this bug during testing when i used blueprint on it, so i made it not blueprint compatible, however i neglected to test retriggers lmao

one quick thing, +score type jokers for secret poker hands really shouldn't show up in the shop until you play them. i keep seeing the +score jokers for ultimate pair and bulwark when my deck really isn't set up for that, and you see them a lot since they're common

also yeah, new deck added! for those who want to try out the new Empyrean jokers without dealing with doe or the finicky anomaly card

no, it just contains a feature that hasn't been added to the main branch yet
this should work with all your mods but it's not a long term solution
hopefully in the next week or two the feature used in this version of smods gets added to the main branch and this won't be necessary anymore

empyrean jokers are supposed to look like this, with Old Norse runes in their title, that's what the custom smods was for, but i disabled this so that people could actually use the mod without needing that custom version of smods, I'm currently working on a fix to make the fonts work again, but i haven't been able to figure it out yet

oh, cool! a lot of the best modded jokers don't really care about suits as much and just provide strong unconditional effects. building around alfheim will be really interesting
I personally believe that if you're gonna make a joker overpowered you have to make it unique and creative as well

i am like 90% sure that it's the latest version, and i think the problem is with AIJ beacuse when i have it but not astronomica it says i don't have the latest smods when i do, i literally downloaded it less than an hour ago
can now confirm that is absolutely not the case. updated cryptid to the one on the github literally right now, same error, same false reporting of not having the right smods
every single time i've tried to play AIJ there's been a bug i think this is a sign to stop trying
like not a minor "joker doesn't work" bug like genuinely i cannot start the game for any reason
