My first attempt at modding Balatro. Changes jokers that I personally find a bit underwhelming

List of changes:

  1. Obelisk - doesnt reset, but X Mult gain reduced from 0.2 to 0.15
  2. Ride the Bus - doesnt reset
  3. Square Joker - chips gain increased from 4 to 9

Might add some more tweaks in the future. If someone tries this mod and discovers bugs, please let me know

  • Seance's ability is now replaced with "Spectral cards may appear in shop". Works extra well with Ghost deck

I don't want to deviate too much from original designs, but sometimes its easier to just come up with something new rather than constantly try to find a middle ground

If you want to completely rework square joker to the point it is hardly a "square", then maybe just remove it entirely.

Thats one way I suppose. Not really sure what "square" as a concept can be applied to as of right now

If the reliance on "4 card hand" were to be kept, maybe it could be pushed towards something like Seltzer

Aka "If played hand has exactly 4 cards, retrigger all played cards"

Hm, that sounds fun, but it would be better as: "If played hand has exactly 4 scoring cards, retrigger all played cards"

Since its a common card still, one could see this as alternative to Hanging Chad, except instead of piling every retrigger on one card, its a bit more spread out

Well it is thematically fitting as two pairs and 4 of a kind are square-like Poker hands.
