design thoughts here are oriented around positioning Stone cards as halfway between an enhancement and a 5th suit. the mod has (yet another implementation of) a 5-Stone-cards hand and a corresponding planet card, 12 new jokers, and a new spectral card. download here

PROGRESS:

  • code is nearly complete. poker hand, planet card, and the new jokers are implemented. jokers need more testing and some minor edits (e.g. make Popping Candy incompatible with Eternal), in particular blueprint/brainstorm interactions still need testing. spectral card and edits to vanilla content have not been made yet
  • art has not been started. it's also nearly finals season so this may continue to be the case for a few weeks at least
  • i've done a lot of balance theory talk with friends, but i still need to run some actual games with all the new content to see how things hold up in practice

NOTES:
yes this is like the 3rd 5-Stone-cards poker hand mod. Bulwark is obviously balanced for a Cryptid environment, which i don't want, and Stone Ocean from Handsome Devils is a bit weird for my tastes (not bad by any means)

another joker concept, on the fence about it
"Rock That Looks Like A Face Rock": all face cards are enhanced to Stone when scored. all Stone cards count as face cards

iirc the Moyai stone heads are on the easter islands so the joker could act kinda like an egg joker enhancer or smth

"Increase Egg Joker sell value gain by $2 after Boss Blind is defeated"

so that would let the egg joker gain more money per round the longer it stays in the joker slot

or alternatively "Add $1 sell value per stone card after defeating Boss Blind" for the Moyai joker itself

the name is very specifically a gravity falls reference (hence the image above), but i do have a backup idea i think: the Rock Facts Rock from Over the Garden Wall

Sisyphus's Boulder: gains +50 Chips per Stone card played. Has a (Accrued Chips) in 1000 chance to reset at the end of the round.

initially it was gonna be +Chips per hands played, but that overlaps too much with ortalab's Joker Miles Card

hopefully the basic hand-based jokers are visually distinct enough from Cryptid's (not because they'll be seen alongside Cryptid's, just for the sake of making it clear that i'm not stealing art)
The Mountain is certainly clear that it's different (plus, it looks like a stone card in the background a bit), but the Stalwart/Deadpan Jokers should be different enough too

sometimes it works really well (prehistoric football, gonggong, sisyphus maybe??) and sometimes it's just fine (gravestone, whiskey on the rocks)

I just finished playing your mod, for the first time. It had no crash, or any other troubles. Everything seem to fit together very well too! And the new addition really boosted the Stone cards

ya that's intended for the time being, because I haven't coded any way to handle the conflict between Detritus and Bulwark yet

I do plan to fix that eventually, I'm just not quite sure how to handle it yet
