What's the issue with the mod?
They updated it to work with the modloader but never implement half the original changes, then waffled for a few months about finishing it, and then declared it discontinued a few days ago. The original mod was just a replacement of the exe file to the modded exe file, it worked for a while but it doesn't work any more after the last update that added more deck skins. Bricked my game and I had to reinstall the whole game

It's just technical changes and more of a "cheat" mod to make the game a bit easier, altering the effects of some of the cards. I did not unfortch get a crash log

I have no idea how the modloader even works, this was the only mod I used and it just replaced the exe for me, so I'm figuring that out now
I mean, I can't find a log if there is one? Where would they be stored if not the common steamapps folder
Owh I get it now so basically this guy instead of making a mod he integrated the changes inside the exe basically modify the game files itself right?

Usually when the game crashes the whole message pops up with a blueish screen
Give me some time let me check it out and see if I can help you or not as I said I am still learning stuff, and if he basically just integrated the mod into the exe I could try to make into a standalone mod, have you ever tried steammod and lovely
I have not tried steammod but I'm looking at it now, I have no idea what lovely is
Lovely is an injector, and if u need help be free to ask people in this server, also there is plenty of yt videos to help u mod balatro

Honestly, I've never seen a modloader more complicated than this one
Also why I avoided it for so long
Actually it's easy 😅 very very easy
U just need two things, yah it looks complicated but actually it's easy as I used to think the same before I did it myself
Most modloaders i've used are just "shove this exe in the steamapps common, make a mods folder here, shove the mods in that folder, arrange them in the exe based on what you want loaded first"
Trust me am a newbie and I thought the same I was like WTH ain't doing all that, than I watched a yt video and all and it was extremely easy

campfire doesnt reset, spectrals have no debuffs, theres more negative tags
Can you show me the more negative tags, am asking this becz I will have eti recreate the mod mostly step by step so and find the changes, so I wanted to start with the first things you like about this mod
How about money and hand size and amount of discards?
they took out foil/holo/poly as tags and boosted the negative chance appearing slightly afaik
those are also a big bonus
the amount of cards you can choose as well for discards/planet/tarot/spectrals

The only ones I didn't use were popcorn, yorik, and red joker
I will say, the OP said that after transferring the mod to the modloader, the edition numbers wouldn't change and that the modloader overwrote them. But, after looking at the download for the newest version of their mod, they didn't change the download from an exe file replacement to a modloader mod at all
The easiest way I can think to do this is use a website like text-compare.com, pasting the contents in there of an unchanged version of the game- and the 25th march 2024 version of the mod contents, to find exactly what was changed and where
I used the same went through the all the files and compared it I also got the files and and the codes

I am first testing it with patches to at least get that working than I will slowly update the codes
At least gotta fix one issue before stepping to the next part
@feral valley as you have use this mod, which parts of the game should I check to see if the mod has applied or not like what the most obvious change those this mod do so I can observe it in game when testing it
the starting ones are the most obvious, starting money 10/4 consumable slots, discarding 10 at a time, also the tarot since you can get those right away

I got the mod working (also big thanks to virtualized (the mod creator of Balatro Multiplayer mod) he helped to fix the bugs) now this mod works but with lovely only, steammod is bringing problems which I will try my best to fix it
Plus I will need your help to be active for some days too as my plan is to add more content

also, you definitely used the modded code from march 25th 2024 and not jan 16th 2025 yeah?
the only thing i can think of to add is finding a way to fix the shop menu from badly overlapping with the left hand side of the menu when you expand the shop
and to fix the big card packs from going under the deck, making them unselectable, when a lot get pulled from a jumbo pack

i never checked the newest version of the mod, and i just assumed- because he said 'its now steammod compatible'- that he just changed it to a modloader mod. i did not know that he just took the newest exe and changed that, and didnt actually make it a mod mod

the first one is something he did not add to the updated mod, because the modloader overwrote the values, so he left them out and told people how to fix it themselves

1.1 of the mod just crashes the game when you change out the exe
i dont know how it worked before since i didn't have modloader before now

Something like "Hidden Antes" or "Restored Aces"
These are just names i got off the top of my head
Restored Aces sounds cool too, my main goal was to get a proper mod working first before we name it, I was thinking how about increasing the shop size how about adding more jokers adding more consumeables

It won't be easy but if we can do it together it will be perfect
you would have to figure out how to fix the shop being so large that it covers the entire left menu first, cause thats already a problem hidden aces has when you get the shop upgrade voucher

all the standard packs in the shop were also more than 3 if i remember right, they were doubled and you could choose more than 1 to keep
the 'convert this card' tarots were also something crazy like up to 9

the spectrals are wrong. ectoplasm didnt decrease hand size, ouija didnt decrease hand size, wraith didnt set your money to 0, immolate only destroyed 1 card instead of 5, ankh didnt destroy other jokers, hex didnt destroy other jokers, cryptid created 5 copies

immolate destroying only 1 card can be considered a nerf at times

when i played 1.1 of the mod it destroyed 1 card
you could just rewrite immolate to be "select up to 5 cards to destroy and gain 20$"

just had a terrible yesterday, i need to setup steam again. had to fresh install win 10 to migrate to an ssd for my os.

I do, but I wanted a lil help and wanted to note everything down so if u could play 1.0 NEW and let me know what's changed I can slowly start learning more about Balatro modding Lua and slowly makes things from scratch, I wanted you to to help me out on this, so basically I wanted you to write all the features in parts the Main and the Minor ones

The easiest way to do that is using https://text-compare.com/ for each of the files. I don't think I can play through the game and notice every little detail organically, but I can help you with finding the changes in the files
i opened your toml file and right away i saw some stuff missing. In text compare there was often more than one line changed in a group
for the large chunks of text on multiple lines, you may need to do each line individually as a patch
a bunch were missing at the top of the card.lua file
in your toml
im editing the toml
so i looked up some formatting stuff, and apparently the multiple lines are supposed to look like this

the tags need the spaces before them in the payload i think
though, theres more changes in 1.1 than there is in 1.0NEW

i didnt, the old 1.1 file is a mess and i gave up trying to figure it out
I have done a perfect txt file with all the files modified or removed written properly and arrange the thing is that am not getting time to look into it and check what those changes are exactly so I wanted someone to note them out like for example blind is changed to give this much blind is changed to do this etc like that
on both mine and yours though, the card packs being larger still isnt working even after i formatted it differently

It's not a lovely file, it's just a txt file that I wrote down the codes that r changed
It's not a mod just noted down the main changes, all I need to do now is too turn them into smods if possible form scratch
so we dont have to replace the lovely file any more and just use smods?
i still need the txt file to write down a list of the changes, like if youre going to use it as a specific description for posting the mod
also, where do i shove this file back in the balatro folder?
What I mean is that I took the changed codes and wrote them in a .txt file so it's simple and sweet and quick to understand now my goal is to view through the changes and note down somewhere the changes and then I can start writing done codes that will work with smods form scratch as lovely doesn't work
