Part of why Kleptomaniac works like that is because it gives the option to play throwaway hands with Bonus Cards to have extra chips on hands that actually matter. You're giving up more than you're gaining to start with, but eventually it'll be net positive, if you don’t play any Bonus Cards in the hand, and eventually even with the loss of 20 chips per Bonus Card scored. I understand if +10 is still too slow, though; I'm unsure what a good balance is, and if it turns out +12 or +15 is a better fit, then maybe I'll change it in the future.
