idk if this counts as a mod but I came up with a way to play irl balatro that isn’t insanely tedious

things I forgot to mention:

  • there's 9,194 possible cards the way I coded it (stone cards don't save their numbers+suits in my version), so I have 2 ARUco tags with 100 different IDs, so 10,000 possible cards in total.

  • originally I wanted to make a 5x4 fiducial marker for each card, but ARUco tags and a look...

oh this is sick

i'm picturing all the ways you could make the mechanics with the physical arcade machine and it's fascinating

#

i'm picturing the machine working in such a way where you put the cards on a little area, push a button for play and discard and it like tilts the area to slide the cards in the machine to play or discard them. having the deck card area be handled inside the machine would fix that cheating thing you mention 7 or so minutes in, it would spit out the cards you draw during a blind after shuffling them internally

#

would require a lot of internal machinery though for managing the cards

yeah my idea may not be the most efficient but i can imagine it working quickly if done right

plus if you can take the card boxes out they can be like physical containers for the card packs

#

but that system would take forever to fill so idk, maybe it’ll just display a preview of the packs and then you select which card you want and it gives you the right one?

shaft may be in the wrong place realistically but you see the vision

plus you can store the played and discarded cards in the same place and just reshuffle them in at the end
